It’s a little hard to wrap your head around, but I’m actually turning 50. How in the world did that happen? Though, I have to say, I enjoy life more now than ever before. What I like about this age is that there is a lot to look back on, a lot going on, and a lot to look forward to. And even though they say it’s just a number, I think’s it’s worth celebrating, and make some kind of statement of where you currently are in life and music. So let’s have a party!
On May 30th I will have a big concert at Katalin, Uppsala, a venue that feels like a second home. I plan to incorporate at least 4 of my projects. Firstly, there’ll be a vinyl release of Orgelparty Pop Editiion II! Me and Ola Bothzén have recorded a new set of pop and rock songs and they’re finally ready to go out into the world!
Then, I will also do a premiere concert featuring Double Organ Madness. 5 years ago, in the fall of 2021, me, Leo Lindberg and Jesper Kviberg did a streamed concert from the HQ, with the intention of combining two organs in a way that they complement and strengthen each other without it turning in to a competition in volume and technique. It was so much fun, and I have always felt bad about not having done more with it since. But now’s the time! Though, Jesper wasn’t available so Ola Bothzen will be playing drums.
It as now almost exactly 10 years ago that me and norwegian guitarist and singer Hans Bollandsås played together for the first time, at Trondheims Jazzfestival. Our collaboration has continued since and has developed into the band Small Town Orchestra, with Ola Bothzén on drums and Helene Misund on vocals. The music is mostly written by Hans och Helene and has influences from soul, blues and americana. Last year we record an album that will be released later this year. So, check us out for a sneak peak here!
And if that wasn’t enough, I will try to get some Quadraphonic stuff into the concert as well. I feel I just need to let more people hear it!
So, if you’re in the area, I hopw to see you at the concert! More information here
