Every summer some good friends of mine arrange a festival in the Stockholm archipelago, on a small island. There’s a wonderful band of fantastic musicians, a magnificent lineup of artists and a really interesting mix of styles and songs. One of the highlights each summer. And this one was probably the best ever.
It started out with some cocktail jazz. Then I did a tune from my Quadraphonic album, follow by more jazz with singer Ulla Fluur. Flute virtuoso Janne Bengtson and his daughter Ellinor played a beautiful Scottish tune with me. Then there were performances by Swedish guitar legend Conny Bloom, and our fabulous bass player Jarmo was featured in a few tunes. Upcoming pop artist Namelle did a few tunes for her upcoming album, and Papa Dee also played some of his great hits. But the highlight for me was when we got to do Billy Preston’s Nothing from nothing with him. Dream come true! Love that song so much.
At the end of the day I had played 4 hours straight, but it was so much fun!
