Been looking forward to this week for a long time. About a year ago, Monica Dominique and I did our first concert in Uppsala. A Hammond B3 and a grand piano – what a combination! A symbiosis of the world’s finest keyboard instruments. A we really found each other both on a musical and personal level. We decided to do it again sometime. And that time was today!
So I got my B3 with two leslies loaded into my van, went by Stockholm to pick up Monica and then we headed a few hours south. The first stop was in Jönköping, at Fjällstugan, a place where I have been a number of times before and it’s always such a nice venue to play. The concert was sold out, and it seemed they had to bring out any extra chair that they had.
We did most of the repertoire we had since last time, but we also tried a few more songs. We try to keep a relaxed atmosphere, with a playful attitude towards the music, and spontaneous conversation between the songs. It works really well!
