Going into 2024 my plan was to enter more of a production phase when it comes to music. I have so many projects that I want to record and release so it was time to get started. The biggest project was “Quadraphonic Leslie Experience” (QLX for short), for which I had received a grant to finish composing, and then record. I dare say it is the most serious, artistic, ambitious and maybe coolest thing I have ever done, with my own music specifically composed for my quadraphonic setup with 4 leslie cabinets. The actual album got the title Quadraphonic, and is available in both Dolby Atmos and regular stereo.
Another project that has been finished, Orgelparty Pop Edition, is a light hearted collection of pop songs, a groovy celebration of Hammond party music. Me and Ola Bothzén had gotten quite a repertoire together and we thought it was time to record as well.
The recordings were made early this year and I thought I would have them both done by summer, but as usual, things take longer than expected. And it was just in the last couple of weeks that I got them over the finish line. And so I thought – why not release them on the same day? Though they are at the opposite ends of the spectrum, I would say they represent me equally, although in different ways. As you may know, I like contrasts.
On November 29th they were both released on digital platforms. So, my first request to you is just to go in and have a listen! I’ll link to Spotify and Apple Music here but you can easily find them on other platforms by searching my name and artist profile
Qudaraphonic (Spotify) Quadraphonic (Apple Music)
Orgelparty Pop Edition (Spotify) Orgelparty Pop Edition (Apple Music)
There are also physical products. For Quadraphonic there are Pure Audio Blu-Ray, a special format, compatible with any Blu-Ray player, where you can choose between Dolby Atmos and stereo, depending on your home speaker setup. Getting the surround sound is the closest thing you can get to the real experience!
Orgelparty Pop Edition is currently available as CD, and vinyls are being made (but not yet available). If you’re interested, just head on the webshop and order some! There’s still time to get them before Christmas.
There will a virtual release event on Saturday, Dec 14th, 6pm CET for Quadraphonic. Haven’t been on the air for a while so I’m really looking forward to doing a Saturday Hellkvist Hammond Hour! I will talk about and show you the setup for QLX as well as play some music from the album. Hope to see you there! Here are the links:

Also, I hope you all are well. For my part, this year has felt like a long tunnel that I’m finally coming out of and seeing the light up ahead. I hope to see much more of you all in the near future.
Talk soon!
