Every summer I go to the county of Värmland for a week or so. Party for vacation and recreation – most of my relatives live in the area and I usually stay with my aunt, who lives on my grandmother’s old farm. It is a place that means a lot to me, and a tradition I stick firmly to. This year I had a few gigs in the area as well. The day I arrived I went straight to Vikene to play at this festival, at another old farm house nearby.
We and trombone player Leon Falk had put together a set specifically for the evening with “dancable” jazz. We wrote a few arrangements and it turned out really nice! And people were dancing as well. Wound be fun to do more of that sort of thing.
Anyway, a great start to my week in Värmland.
