In her retirement, my mother would sometimes help out at a home for elderly. She would especially attend to an old woman she knew there. This summer day we arranged for a little concert at that place. I brought my Hammond 142 Composer, and I think it’s the only gig I’ve done usíng that organ.
I played some jazz standards, and more churchy songs and they really seemed to like it. A man from the audience got up and started dancing by himself and then my mother joined him and they danced for a few songs. A nice memory, for sure.
