I usually start my church concerts with a few jazz tunes. This summer Sweden has had quite a few weeks of warm days and sunshine, so I thought “On the Sunny Side of the Street” would be a nice one to include in the set. A song that I have mostly played with the jazz trio Trinity, but I think it works just as well on solo organ. You can’t reallt see it here, but I’m using two leslies, at each side behind the organ. One 147 and one 770. Together they make a fantastic sound in the church!
On this one I have chosen to go all in on the “squibble sound”, and I really like to play around with it. Though, I have to admit, for many years I wasn’t hat into this particular sound of the Hammond. Oh well, I guess you can always change. Anyway, hope you’ll it!
