It has been a while since I was in Germany. Last time I think was in the fall of 2019, when Gransten Blues Band did a little tour in the northern parts. One of the gigs was the city fest in Celle, a charming little town not too long from Hannover. So, when Trinity got booked to the Jazz Club Hannover, I contacted my friends in Celle and they arranged for this concert. It was such a great way to start our little tour. Getting warmed up and getting accustomed to the organ I got to play (an XK5 with 3300 Leslie). And it’s always interesting to see how a completely new audience reacts to the music. And they loved it! So, it was kind of a confidence boost just when you need it. The german audience also seem a little more “fun” than the Swedish one. More alert and into it in some way.
On the flight down I wrote some scripts for the presentation of the songs, and then let AI translate it. I checked most of it with some German friends when I arrived and they approved. So I did all the presentations in German! That also was much appreciated and I sure will practice my German to be able to do it without a script the next time!
The local paper Cellesche Zeitung published a great review from the concert. You can read it here:
Also, so nice to see old friends in the audience.
