After my big birthday concert I needed a little hiatus to be rested for the summer season, which seems to be more busy than usual. The first concert was at Tomaskyrkan in Gävle, a church where a haven’t been before. And not only that, I did my Quadraphonic concert for the first time in a church. At least with the complete setup with 4 leslies.
Since I hadn’t been there before I didn’t know what it looked like, and I didn’t know have the organizers had planned to seat the audience. And it turned out they had come up with quite an insteresting variant. There were seats for everyone in the back of the room, but they also had cleared out the front of the room where the organ and 4 leslies would be. And then those who wanted could step forward and enjoy the concert from “within” the leslie setup and explore the room. Either for the whole concert or just a song or two. Worked really well! There were a few familiar faces in the audience, but to a large extent mostly people who didn’t really know me before. Always fun to meet a new audience, and especially with the quadraphonic concert as noone really can picture the sound and experience beforehand.
