1-2-3-4 go! Katalin is where it all started and I think it will always be the favorite venue to do my Quadraphonic concert. This time I was a little extra excited as well, because I used the B3 that I purchased just a few months before, as well as an almost new setup of leslies! Previously I have used leslies of different kinds, both with tube amp and transistors. In way it’s interesting when they have they’re own character. Though, there is also a point in having a more uniform sound. And I like the way a 770 sounds in this context. It has quite a clean sound, and each cabinet can produce more power, which also allows the setup as a whole to carry bigger halls even if there’s no additional amplification. So earlier this year, I managed to acquire 3 more 770 and at this concert I used those and the one I already had. And it worked really well! So, this will be my standard setup going forward.
The date was chosen to coincide as closely as possible with the anniversary of the Hammond Patent, which is April 24th. Though, unfortunately it also coincided with Easter holiday so the crowd wasn’t as good a I had hoped. Though, iin many other ways it was the best Quadraphonic concert so far.
